About Combe Manor Barns

Nestled in the breathtaking Berkshire countryside, Combe Manor Barns is more than just a wedding venue or events space; it’s a beloved family home, rich in history and full of warmth, charm and character.

It’s a truly special place where unforgettable memories are made. Combe Manor Barns is ready to welcome you and your guests with open arms.

The History

Combe was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. The Manor was rebuilt in 1669 and remained under the ownership of King’s College, Cambridge for over 400 years. In 1691, Gabriel Whistler leased the Manor, and it’s said that Charles II and Nell Gwynne visited during this time. Gabriel died in 1710 and is buried in the Combe churchyard. The Russell family have lived here since the 1960s.

Today, the Manor and its historic barns have been lovingly transformed into a beautiful wedding venue and events space, nestled among the rolling hills of the Berkshire countryside.

Sustainability

Sustainability is important to us at Combe Manor Barns. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and aim to improve the biodiversity of our environment and reduce our carbon footprint.

We don’t use pesticides on our land, or nitrogen fertilisers. Our fields are given over to low-intensity grazing in order to manage and encourage wildflowers and beneficial insects.

We have recycling facilities on site, and encourage our customers and suppliers to use them to recycle all glass, cardboard, plastic and cans.

All our recommended caterers are local, and we support local businesses wherever possible.

She was extremely kind when we had to postpone during COVID, bending over backwards to fit our day in during an extremely busy year for weddings. The whole venue is a perfect combination of ’do it yourself', with all the high-end professional equipment required to do it well. The barn is exceptionally well-stocked for many different styles and layouts for your day, with Sybille on-hand to make your dream a reality.”
